Court Rejects Bid to Bar David Mark, Aregbesola from Leading ADC - Key Ruling in Abuja

The Federal High Court in Abuja rejected an application to prevent former Senate President David Mark and ex-State Governor Rauf Aregbesola from assuming leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Justice Emeka Nwite dismissed the motion seeking to stop the duo from taking charge of the party.

The court declined to grant an interim order to restrain them from parading as the national chairman and secretary. Instead, the judge ordered the party to be put on notice and appear in court to show cause.

The emergence of Mark and Aregbesola as part of the new National Working Committee followed the dissolution of the previous committee. The matter has been adjourned to September 15 for further hearing.
