ADC Faction Rejects David Mark's Convention as Illegitimate

The faction of the African Democratic Congress, chaired by Bala, has publicly rejected the convention led by David Mark, which took place on April 14. Bala described the convention as an illegitimate event that violated a court order, emphasizing that the matter remains under judicial review.

During a press conference in Abuja, Bala stated that the conduct of the convention was a defiance of a subsisting court appeal judgment and highlighted the absence of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as evidence of the convention's lack of legitimacy. Bala further accused the rival faction of engaging in lawless acts, including the alleged forgery of signatures on documents aimed at damaging the reputation of his faction.

He insisted that the actions of the Mark-led group would not be recognized by his faction, reaffirming their stance against the convention.
