ADC Faction Urges Halt on Nomination Form Sales

The faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the leadership under David Mark to suspend the sale of nomination forms. This request follows a leadership suit filed in the Federal High Court in Abuja, which has been adjourned indefinitely.

The suit, identified as Mark FHC/ABJ/CS/1819/2025, faced delays due to an interlocutory appeal filed by David Mark, which was dismissed by the Supreme Court on April 30, 2026. Rufu Akanmi, the faction's secretary, warned that anyone proceeding to purchase nomination forms despite the directive would do so at their own risk.

The faction commended the Supreme Court's judgment as a landmark contribution to democracy and urged coalition members within the party to prioritize unity over partisan interests. The court proceedings have faced setbacks, with the plaintiff's counsel, Luka Musa Haruna, disclosing a letter dated May 4, 2026, requesting the chief judge to transfer the case, which the defense team criticized as an attempt to frustrate the hearing.
