ADC Youth Leader Sultan Bello Resigns Ahead of 2027 Elections

Sultan Bello, the factional national youth leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), announced his resignation from the party in a letter dated September 24, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of Ja’oji Gyadi Gyadi Arewa Ward in Tarauni Local Government Area, Kano State. His resignation took immediate effect and followed “extensive consultations, careful consideration, and deep personal reflection.” Although he did not explicitly link his resignation to his reported exclusion from the ADC's campaign council, his social media post suggested dissatisfaction with the council's composition.

Bello expressed appreciation to his principal, former Rivers State Governor and former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, for his support and requested that his name be removed from the party's membership records. His resignation is significant given his role as the ADC’s National Youth Leader and his previous involvement in youth mobilization within the party.

This development occurs as the ADC prepares for the 2027 elections, with Amaechi as the running mate to presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
