ADC Supports NBA on Legal Actions Violating Electoral Law

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed its support for the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) regarding the ongoing leadership disputes within the party, which the ADC claims violate electoral law. In a statement issued by Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC described the current legal actions as a calculated attempt to manipulate the judicial process for political purposes, asserting that the NBA's position indicates that the courts lack jurisdiction over internal party matters.

The ADC criticized the ongoing disputes as not being genuine legal contests but rather efforts to weaken opposition platforms as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections. The party warned that such actions could undermine the integrity of Nigeria's democracy and called for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain neutral and not lend legitimacy to unlawful judicial interference.
