ADC Claims Electoral Act 2026 Contradicts Constitution

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a statement expressing alarm over the Electoral Act 2026, asserting that it contradicts Nigeria's constitution. Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC's National Publicity Secretary, criticized the National Assembly for amending the electoral law, accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of undermining ethical democratic standards.

The ADC claims that the new law weakens democratic accountability and erodes public confidence in Nigeria's electoral system. Akpabio, however, dismissed the opposition's complaints, stating that the Senate made the right decision in passing the law.
