ADC Prepares for Convention Amid Internal Disputes

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is scheduled to hold its convention, having released an updated list of committee members to enhance coordination and ensure a credible process. The announcement was made by Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's national public secretary. The convention is expected to include ward congresses and local government congresses across states, despite warnings from the David Mark-led caretaker committee against proceeding due to a pending court case. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been accused by the ADC of overstepping its supervisory role. The party has faced setbacks in states like Katsina and Edo, with disruptions reported in Adamawa due to clashes between interest groups. Newly elected state executives have been inaugurated, including Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin as chairman in Adamawa and Shuaibu Dankama in Bauchi. The ADC emphasizes its commitment to internal democracy and adherence to legal provisions despite ongoing internal disagreements.
