ADC Prepares for Convention Amid Leadership Challenges

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is preparing to hold its convention in Abuja, with expectations of 2,500 to 3,000 delegates attending. The event aims to ratify the National Working Committee (NWC) leadership under former Senate President David Mark.

However, the ADC faces challenges, including an ongoing leadership tussle, with Mark's leadership being contested by Nafiu Bala Gomb, who has filed a suit against Mark's group. The Federal High Court is set to hear an appeal regarding this leadership dispute on March 12, 2026.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been notified of the convention, but it has stated it will not recognize Mark's leadership. Additionally, there are concerns in Kaduna over counterfeit membership cards being circulated, prompting the state chapter of the ADC to warn members to remain vigilant against fraudsters.

The Kaduna chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Sidi Bamal, emphasized the need for proper membership registration.
