ADC Caucus Demands INEC Chairman's Removal Ahead of 2027

They highlighted a recent public statement by Amupitan that they deemed partisan and expressed worries about his ability to oversee free and fair elections. The caucus accused Amupitan of supporting the Progress Congress and of making statements that could be interpreted as endorsing a faction within the ADC, which has led to internal divisions.

They called for his removal to safeguard the nation against undemocratic practices and to prevent further leadership crises within the ADC. The caucus also noted that INEC had previously recognized a rival faction within the ADC, exacerbating the party's internal disputes and potentially hindering their ability to field candidates in the upcoming elections.
