Court Adjourns ADC Leadership Suit Against David Mark

The Federal High Court (FHC) in Abuja has adjourned sine die a suit filed by Nafiu Bala Gomb challenging the leadership of David Mark in the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The adjournment occurred on a day when Gomb's lawyer, Luka Musa Haruna, sought to transfer the case to another judge, citing a letter dated May 4, 2026, addressed to the Chief Judge.

The court's Chief Judge, Justice John Tsoho, was requested to make an administrative decision regarding the case. The suit has been adjourned multiple times, with the latest being the second adjournment since the Supreme Court's decision on an interlocutory appeal.

Gomb's faction claims that Mark's leadership is illegitimate, while Mark's counsel, Realwan Okpanachi, accused the plaintiff of attempting to frustrate the court's orders. The court proceedings have been marked by accusations of forum shopping and judicial manipulation, with the matter pending until the certified true copy of the Supreme Court judgment is filed.
