ADC Opposes Plan To Raise Political Office Holders’ Salaries

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has opposed a proposed salary increase for political office holders in Nigeria, calling it an affront to the struggling Nigerian people. The party criticized the plan by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to raise the salaries of President, Vice President, governors, and other top officials, stating that it would further disconnect the government from the reality of millions of Nigerians facing inflation and inadequate wages.

The ADC emphasized that the current salaries of political office holders, already supplemented by various allowances and perks, far exceed what ordinary citizens earn. The party demanded that the proposed salary increase be suspended immediately, urging the government to focus on improving the lives of the people by raising the minimum wage and ensuring fair salaries for civil servants.
