INEC Advances Registration Process for New Political Parties, ADC Among Qualifiers

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that 14 political associations, including the Democratic Alliance (ADA), have met the requirements for registration as new political parties. INEC received 171 applications, with 14 passing the initial screening based on constitutional and electoral guidelines.

The qualified associations will undergo physical verification before a final decision on their registration. The ADC, among others, is moving to the next stage of the process.

INEC has invited the interim chairman and secretary of the associations for a briefing in Abuja. This development signifies progress towards expanding the political landscape in Nigeria ahead of future elections.
