ADC Leadership Crisis: Kwankwaso Open to VP Role

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is currently experiencing a leadership crisis characterized by a power struggle between two factions: one led by Nafiu Bala and the other by former Senate President David Mark. Tensions escalated when Mark's faction announced the expulsion of Bala and several members during the party's 8th national convention in Abuja, which Bala dismissed as illegitimate.

Bala stated that the expulsion lacks legal standing and that he will continue to fight for his position within the party. Amidst this turmoil, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso's aide, Habibu Saleh, revealed that Kwankwaso is open to accepting a vice presidential role in a coalition aimed at defeating the ruling APC in the 2027 general elections.

Saleh emphasized that Kwankwaso's priority is to ensure the success of the ADC and contribute to the removal of the current government, asserting that Kwankwaso remains a significant political figure in Kano.
