ADC Primaries: Atiku, Amaechi, Hayatu-Deen Compete

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is conducting its presidential primaries today, featuring candidates Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and Hayatu-Deen. Attempts to reach a consensus among the aspirants failed, resulting in a decision for a direct primary to select the party's flag bearer.

The primaries are part of the ADC's strategy for the 2027 general elections. In addition to the presidential race, the ADC has also concluded governorship primaries in various states, with notable candidates including Abubakar Malami, who emerged as the governorship candidate in Katsina, and Halliru Dauda Jika in Bauchi.

Other candidates include Umar Suleiman in Adamawa and Kassim Gana Gaidam in Yobe. The party's leadership, led by President Liyel Imok, is working to navigate the challenges posed by the primaries and ensure a successful outcome.

The ADC aims to position itself as a significant opposition party against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
