Hayatu-Deen Urges Atiku, Amaechi to Endorse ADC Ethics

Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, the presidential aspirant for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has publicly challenged fellow contenders Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President, and Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transport, to endorse the party's newly introduced governance principles outlined in a document known as the Code of Ethics. Hayatu-Deen made this call during an appearance before the ADC presidential screening committee.

He described the Code of Ethics as possibly the first of its kind in modern Nigerian politics, aimed at establishing an ethical framework prioritizing service to citizens over personal political interests. The document emphasizes that public office should not be a means for self-enrichment.

Hayatu-Deen stated that all aspirants seeking the party's mandate are expected to uphold these principles, which include integrity, transparency, accountability, merit, discipline, and a rejection of corruption. He noted that the challenges facing Nigeria extend beyond economic hardship and insecurity, calling for a change in political culture that prioritizes public service.
