Atiku Abubakar Wins ADC Presidential Primary in Gombe

Atiku Abubakar emerged as the winner of the ADC presidential primary held in Gombe State on May 25, 2026, garnering a total of 139,334 votes. He defeated two other aspirants: former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who received 1,150 votes, and Muhammad Hayatu Deen, who secured 465 votes.

The primary was conducted peacefully, with a total of 140,949 registered party members casting their votes out of 160,982 registered members of the ADC in the state. Prof.

David Agbu, the state returning officer, announced the results, confirming Atiku's victory. Earlier, the ADC had declared Atiku as the sole candidate ahead of the presidential primary election.

The announcement of the results was made in the presence of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security personnel, and party stakeholders, including former Minister of Transport Idris Abdullahi Umar.
