Atiku Abubakar Wins ADC Presidential Primary in Sokoto

Atiku Abubakar emerged as the winner of the ADC presidential primary held in Sokoto, garnering 68,823 votes. The results were announced by the state chief returning officer, Professor Aminu Abubakar, in a peaceful exercise.

Atiku defeated other aspirants, including former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who received 292 votes, and Muhammad Hayatuddeen, who secured 319 votes. A total of 69,434 votes were cast during the primary.

The announcement took place in the presence of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security personnel, and party stakeholders, including former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and ADC governorship candidate Mannir Dan Iya. Earlier, the ADC had declared Atiku as the sole candidate ahead of the presidential primary election.
