ADC Alleges Plot to Remove Judge from Nafiu Bala's Case

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a statement on Wednesday, expressing alarm over an alleged plot to remove Justice Emeka Nwite from the ongoing court case involving the party's national chairman, Nafiu Bala. The ADC accused unnamed government officials and political actors of attempting to interfere with the judicial process by pressuring Justice Nwite to withdraw from the case.

The party's national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, warned that this move aims to undermine the credibility of the judiciary and threaten democratic principles in Nigeria. The ADC claims to have received information suggesting that desperate forces within the corridors of power are working behind the scenes to ensure Justice Nwite steps aside.

The statement highlighted that the judiciary's independence is crucial for democracy and warned against the growing pattern of political interference in judicial matters, which could weaken public confidence in the judiciary and escalate political tensions in the country.
