Kwankwaso to Officially Join ADC on March 30, 2026

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, will officially defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on March 30, 2026. The announcement was made by the Kwankwasiyya Movement, confirming that the defection will take place at Kwankwaso's residence on Miller Road in Kano at 12:00 PM.

This decision follows a recent visit by Kwankwaso to the residence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Abuja, where they engaged in robust discussions regarding the state of the nation. Prior to this meeting, Kwankwaso had held discussions at the national secretariat of the ADC with Rauf Aregbesola.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement had previously indicated that Kwankwaso was also in talks with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) regarding his political future. The spokesperson for the movement noted that negotiations with various political figures are progressing steadily, although no consensus has been reached on a political platform as of yet.
