ADC Defends Against APC's Incitement Accusations

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has pushed back against accusations from the All Progressives Congress (APC) that they are inciting Nigerians. ADC spokesperson Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi emphasized that their statements reflect the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians, particularly in light of a reported 63% rise in poverty and a 500% increase in fuel prices since May 2023.

Abdullahi highlighted that 93% of Nigerians believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, with significant percentages reporting lack of access to food, medical care, and clean water. The ADC criticized the APC for failing to address these issues and instead attacking the opposition.

They pointed out that the removal of fuel subsidies has exacerbated economic distress, with food import bills doubling to N3.83 trillion in 2023. The ADC's response underscores the human cost of the current administration's economic policies and the growing discontent among the populace.
