ADC Postpones Presidential, Governorship Screenings to May 2026

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced the postponement of its presidential and governorship screening exercises to May 18, 2026. This decision was communicated in a statement issued by the party's national public secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Saturday.

The screenings were originally scheduled for the weekend but were rescheduled without further explanation. The ADC cited security concerns in Northern Nigeria as a significant factor affecting the screening of federal lawmaker aspirants.

The party expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this adjustment and assured aspirants that they would be contacted directly with necessary updates. The ADC is intensifying its internal preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the screening process expected to determine the eligibility of various aspirants for different electoral positions.

The party is also seeking to expand its national presence in light of recent political realignments.
