ADC Stakeholders Accuse NWC of External Influence

Stakeholders of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) have criticized the National Working Committee (NWC) for its perceived weakness and lack of decisiveness, particularly regarding the Adamawa governorship ticket for the 2027 elections. Bukar Dahi, representing the stakeholders, expressed concerns that external influences are swaying significant party decisions, which could jeopardize the ADC's credibility as an opposition force.

They highlighted unresolved governorship disputes in Adamawa, Sokoto, Imo, Kano, and Borno, alongside legal uncertainties involving candidates and the ADC's interactions with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Dahi urged the leadership to resolve these disputes transparently to avoid weakening electoral prospects.

The stakeholders accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of attempting to replace Ambassador Engineer Omar Suleiman with Tukur Modibbo, the runner-up in the primary. They questioned the justification for such a replacement and warned that introducing ethnic and religious considerations could harm the party's standing among voters.

Atiku, through aide Phrank Shaibu, denied involvement in any alleged plot, but stakeholders remain unconvinced.
