ADC Sues Chief Judge Tsoho Over Court Disobedience

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has initiated legal action against Justice Tsoho, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, over alleged disobedience to a Supreme Court order. The suit, filed on June 4, 2026, challenges the reassignment of a case involving David Mark to a new judge, Justice Peter Lifu.

The plaintiff, Bala Nafiu, accuses the Chief Judge of manifest bias against the ADC. The case in question, numbered FHC/ABJ/CS/1819/2025, was previously under Justice Emeka Nwite, who had been directed by the Supreme Court to continue hearing the matter.

The ADC's counsel, Nkemakolam Ukandu, argues that the reassignment disregards the Supreme Court's authority and undermines the party's interests, particularly concerning the political implications involving Nyesom Wike. The matter has been adjourned sine die pending service of a letter to the parties involved.
