ADC Suspends Jimi Lawal Over Anti-Party Activities

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced the suspension of Jimi Lawal, a former aide to ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, due to allegations of anti-party activities. Femi Soluad, the ADC state chairman, made the announcement on Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Soluad described the suspension as part of a broader restructuring effort aimed at restoring stability within the party. Lawal was declared a non-member of the party due to actions inconsistent with the principles of the internal democratic framework of the ADC.

The party accused Lawal of attempting to dominate the party structure and systematically acquiring control over two local government structures, which allegedly disrupted the existing local leadership framework. The ADC's actions are intended to restore the original leadership and re-establish internal balance and inclusivity within the party.
