The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu for his decision to attend the Argungu Fishing Festival in Kebbi State on a Saturday, amidst ongoing terror attacks across Nigeria. The ADC described Tinubu's attendance as a demonstration of misplaced priorities, highlighting the current administration's failure to assure citizens of their safety.

The party's statement, submitted on a Sunday, pointed out that while the festival is a cultural event, it is not the immediate agenda when over 1,300 Nigerians have reportedly been killed, with 41 deaths occurring daily and hundreds more abducted, including vulnerable groups like mothers and children. The ADC expressed grave concern over a video allegedly linked to the abduction of individuals in Kaiama, Kwara State, indicating that armed groups are becoming increasingly bold and challenging government authority.

This situation suggests a potential loss of control by the government in certain strategic areas, providing terrorists with a foothold in the country.
