ADC Proposes Strategy to Combat Nigeria's Insecurity

Abdullahi, representing the ADC, criticized the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu for its failure to adequately address Nigeria's security issues. He referenced the latest Global Terror Index (GTI) 2026 report, which ranks Nigeria as the 4th most terror-affected country globally, highlighting a 43% rise in attacks and an increase in civilian deaths.

The ADC outlined a three-part strategy aimed at improving security, which includes enhancing intelligence coordination, decentralizing police operations to bring security closer to communities, and shifting from reactive responses to intelligence-led security operations. Abdullahi expressed dissatisfaction with the current security situation and questioned the priorities of Tinubu's government, particularly in light of the recent developments in national security leadership.
