ADC Youths Demand INEC Reversal or Face Protests

The youth wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Balarab Rufa, has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) demanding the immediate reversal of the party's derecognition. This ultimatum was announced during a press conference in Abuja, where Rufa accused INEC of undermining the democratic process and warned that failure to comply would trigger coordinated peaceful protests across the country.

The INEC had announced the removal of prominent figures from the ADC, including David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, citing a court order to maintain the status quo pending a final judgment. The ADC is facing a prolonged leadership crisis following disputes over the tenure of former chairman Ralph Nwosu, which escalated into multiple legal battles.

Rufa emphasized that INEC's actions were unlawful and called for an investigation by the National Assembly into what he termed a grave breach of constitutional duty.
