ADC Youths Demand Leadership Restoration from INEC

The youth wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by National Youth Leader Balarab Rufa, has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) demanding the restoration of the party's leadership under David Mark. Rufa accused INEC of undermining democracy and acting outside its constitutional powers.

He highlighted a crisis stemming from a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on July 29, 2025, which dissolved the party's national working committee. Despite a court appeal, Rufa claimed INEC ignored orders and acted with partisanship.

The ADC youth leader called for an urgent investigation by the National Assembly and warned of nationwide peaceful protests, including occupying INEC offices across all 36 states, if their demands are not met. Rufa emphasized that any attempt to alter the party's leadership without a final court judgment would be deemed illegal and void, urging the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to refrain from actions that could weaken opposition parties.
