Adebayo Critiques Wike's Communication Style Amid Praise

Adebayo, the SDP presidential candidate, expressed mixed feelings about Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), during an interview with Symfoni. He acknowledged Wike's commitment and effective execution of infrastructure projects in the FCT, comparing it favorably to previous ministers.

Adebayo noted that the ongoing projects have improved travel for residents. However, he raised concerns regarding the cost and value of some projects, questioning contract pricing and value for money.

Adebayo criticized Wike's public communication style, suggesting it could mislead young Nigerians about handling political disagreements. He emphasized that political power is temporary and governance should focus on institutions and civility.

Adebayo called for the media to limit Wike's coverage to his ministerial responsibilities. He stated he would consider appointing Wike in his administration but would seek to manage his public utterances, saying, “I’ll put a little tape in his mouth.” Adebayo referred to Wike as the “number one performing minister” in the Tinubu administration.
