Adebayo Plans to Limit Wike's Public Role if Elected

Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), articulated his plans regarding Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), during an interview with Symfoni. Adebayo acknowledged Wike as the "number one performing minister" in President Bola Tinubu's cabinet, citing significant infrastructure development in the FCT as evidence of Wike's effectiveness.

He noted that the construction activity under Wike's leadership compared favorably to that of previous ministers. Adebayo, a resident of the FCT, mentioned personal benefits from these developments, such as improved travel.

However, he raised concerns about Wike's approach to public political discourse, suggesting it could negatively influence young Nigerians. Adebayo emphasized that while he would welcome Wike into his administration, it would be under strict conditions regarding his public statements.

He urged journalists to focus on Wike's official duties to maintain the dignity of the ministerial office.
