Adebayo Named SDP Presidential Candidate for 2027 Elections

Adewale Adebayo has been selected as the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This decision was made during a national convention held in Bauchi on a Saturday, where Adebayo was the sole aspirant for the party's presidential ticket, receiving unanimous support from delegates representing all 36 states.

In his speech, Adebayo expressed deep concerns about the economic hardships, insecurity, and poor leadership facing Nigeria, describing the country as drifting towards authoritarianism. He criticized the political elite for seeking medical treatment abroad while ordinary Nigerians suffer from inadequate healthcare.

Adebayo also highlighted the alarming unemployment situation among Nigerian youth and questioned the relationship between security agencies and criminal groups. He commended Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi, for allowing the convention to proceed despite alleged pressures.

Adebayo warned against Nigeria's gradual slide towards one-man rule and emphasized the need for political diversity and competition among parties.
