Adebayo Warns Against Recycled Politicians Ahead of 2027

Adewale Adebayo, the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has issued a warning to Nigerians regarding the dangers of supporting "recycled politicians" in the opposition as the country approaches the 2027 general elections. In an interview, Adebayo criticized former government officials who have not resolved Nigeria's ongoing challenges and are now presenting themselves as leaders of the opposition.

He emphasized that the current political system has contributed to Nigeria's problems, and many politicians have failed to bring about the necessary reforms in governance and the electoral process. Adebayo specifically pointed out the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for having spent years in governance without introducing significant reforms.

He also criticized the current administration for neglecting opportunities to strengthen democratic institutions, including electoral law reforms. Adebayo stated that the SDP will not form alliances with these politicians, as doing so would contradict their principles and represent a continuation of bad governance.

He advocates for a political future driven by ordinary Nigerians seeking genuine reform.
