Adeleke Accuses Oyetola of Rigging Threat Ahead of Poll

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has accused Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor, of making threats to rig the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15. This allegation arose after Oyetola urged Adeleke to prepare for defeat, asserting that Adeleke's endorsement of President Bola Tinubu would not safeguard his administration.

Oyetola, addressing APC stakeholders, claimed that Adeleke's complaints indicated a loss of control over the state. In response, Adeleke labeled Oyetola's remarks as an "open threat" and called for democracy advocates to take note.

He emphasized that the people of Osun State would resist any attempts to manipulate the election and demanded a fair process. Adeleke further criticized Oyetola's actions as damaging to Tinubu's image and the APC's popularity in Osun, asserting that Oyetola's activities were focused on rigging rather than genuine electoral competition.
