Adeleke Accuses Oyetola of Election Rigging Plans

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke accused Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor, of suggesting plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate the upcoming governorship election. Adeleke's allegations came after Oyetola addressed APC stakeholders, urging Adeleke to prepare for defeat in the August 15 election and asserting that Adeleke's endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election would not prevent the APC from reclaiming the state.

Oyetola's comments included a Yoruba expression indicating intent to "snatch" the governorship from Adeleke, which the governor interpreted as a threat to the election's credibility. Adeleke called for a transparent electoral process, insisting that the people of Osun should freely determine their governance.

He further accused Oyetola of undermining Tinubu's image and the APC's popularity in Osun through his actions, labeling them anti-democratic and detrimental to the electoral process.
