Adeleke Converts 200 Casual Workers to Permanent Staff

On Monday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke announced the conversion of 200 casual workers at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo to permanent staff after they served for 12 years. The announcement was made by the governor's spokesperson, Olawal Rashe, during a visit to the hospital, where Adeleke addressed the workers and blamed the financial crisis in Osun on local government issues.

He emphasized that despite these challenges, his administration would continue to deliver good governance and support the people of Osun. The announcement was met with excitement among the workers.

Olamid Faniran, head of the labor movement at the hospital, commended the governor's pro-labor stance and urged workers to support Adeleke's re-election campaign scheduled for August 15th. The decision to convert casual workers to permanent staff highlights ongoing labor issues in Nigeria, as similar cases of casualization have been reported in other states, such as Bauchi.
