Adeleke Calls Emergency Security Meeting Amid Attacks

On Monday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke summoned an emergency security council meeting to address a recent wave of attacks on public property in the state. The meeting, held at the governor's office, was attended by various security service commanders and focused on tackling the menace of thuggery.

Governor Adeleke's spokesperson, Olawal Rashe, stated that the meeting aimed to address urgent public security concerns, questioning why law enforcement agents had not arrested the perpetrators. The council is tasked with developing strategies to prevent future occurrences, particularly in light of the political tension leading up to the August 15 governorship election.

Last Friday, the Progress Congress accused the APC of vandalizing campaign billboards belonging to Adeleke's campaign organization, with Oluremi Omowaiy, head of the APC governorship campaign council, describing these allegations as false and politically motivated.
