Adeola Azeez Champions Female Leadership in Nigeria

Adeola Azeez is a notable advocate for female leadership and gender financial inclusion in Nigeria. Following the death of her father, Ayo Adebanjo, a respected lawyer and politician, Azeez's background became more widely recognized.

She has a 31-year banking career, retiring in 2020, and has held significant roles, including director at Deutsche Bank. Azeez studied philosophy at the University of Lagos and earned a law degree from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.

She is a partner at Sigma Risk International, focusing on financial crime risk consulting. Azeez co-founded the Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) and previously served as its chairperson.

She encourages women to break barriers and emphasizes the importance of gender balance in corporate settings, advocating for women to occupy managerial and executive positions. Azeez believes that while progress has been made, it remains insufficient, and she urges women to embrace constructive criticism and continuous learning.
