Leadership Crisis in Ado-Odo Ruling House Resolved

The leadership crisis within the Okeyway ruling house in Ado-Odo, Ogun State, has been resolved through a settlement reached in the Ogun State High Court, sitting in Idi-Oke. The resolution, documented in suit number HCI 19/2024, affirms Prince Sulaimon Adedimeji's recognition as the head of the Okeyway ruling house.

The suit was initiated by Prince Adedimeji and three others on behalf of the ruling house against the Ogun State government. Prince Mufutau Adekunle, who had laid claim to the position, voluntarily conceded leadership to Prince Adedimeji in a bid to foster peace and unity within the ruling house and the broader Ado-Odo community.

The court's decision encourages the community to refrain from engaging in activities related to chieftaincy titles connected to previous leadership disputes. The agreement aims to prevent prolonged litigation that could disrupt traditional processes within the community and promotes unity and progress.
