Advocacy Group Defends Dr. Bala Wunti Against Senate Claims

The advocacy group Agenda Posit Change, led by Titu Danladi Biu, has strongly condemned claims linking Dr. Bala Wunti to a Senate probe concerning N210 trillion.

The group issued a statement on Friday, dismissing the allegations as baseless and politically motivated propaganda aimed at tarnishing Wunti's reputation. They emphasized that no Senate committee or anti-corruption agency has formally indicted Wunti or linked him to any financial misconduct.

The group highlighted Wunti's distinguished career in Nigeria's oil and gas sector, where he has served as the former Chief Investment Officer at NNPC and played a critical role in overseeing Nigeria's upstream investment portfolio. They noted that the N210 trillion figure reflects complex financial obligations rather than stolen public funds.

The group urged Nigerians to reject these politically motivated falsehoods and reaffirmed Wunti's status as a respected leader in the industry, set to retire in 2025.
