AEDC Schedules Two-Day Power Outage in Abuja Areas

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced a planned two-day power outage in parts of Abuja, specifically affecting areas along Airport Road and Gaduwa. This outage is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, as stated in the company's announcement.

The purpose of the outage is to enable the relocation of critical electrical infrastructure along the 33kV feeder H21, H23, and the 11kV feeder H1A in the Gaduwa district. The exercise is intended to facilitate ongoing road construction, which is deemed to override public interest.

During this period, electricity supply will be temporarily disrupted, but AEDC assures that supply will be restored upon the completion of the exercise. The company has expressed sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the understanding of its customers.

The announcement comes amid ongoing challenges in Nigeria's power sector, including frequent national grid collapses and low generation capacity.
