AEDC Reports Major Power Outage in Abuja Areas

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) announced a widespread power outage affecting several strategic locations in Abuja, including the Presidential Villa, Supreme Court, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The notice was issued on Saturday, with AEDC attributing the disruption in electricity supply to technical faults.

The outage impacts major parts of the Federal Capital Territory, including Asokoro, Central Area, Lugbe, and Garki (Areas 2, 3, 7, and 8), as well as various government institutions, diplomatic missions, hotels, and business districts. Affected locations include the State House, National Judicial Council, National Assembly Annex, War College, Air Force Base, Customs Headquarters, Immigration Office, Dunamis Church, Shoprite, Aviat Village, River Park Estate, and parts of Airport Road, along with several embassies.

AEDC has apologized for the inconvenience and assured residents that efforts are ongoing to restore normal electricity supply. The situation arises amid growing concerns about persistent power supply challenges across Nigeria, particularly in key commercial districts within the capital.
