Tanzania, Uganda Pay CAF Fees for AFCON 2027 Hosting

Tanzania and Uganda have fulfilled part of the financial requirements set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for hosting the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations by paying 30 million into a designated CAF account. This payment represents a financial guarantee required to support the infrastructure development planned for the tournament.

Kenya, the third co-host nation, has not yet completed its payment, although officials indicate that the remittance process is ongoing and is expected to conclude shortly. The compliance of Tanzania and Uganda is viewed as a positive step toward readiness for the continental tournament.

The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be historically significant as it will be the first edition jointly hosted by three East African nations, highlighting the increasing regional cooperation in football development across the continent.
