AFCON to Be Played Every Four Years Starting 2028, Says CAF President

The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will transition to a four-year cycle starting in 2028, according to CAF President Patrice Motsepe. Previously held every two years, this move aims to align the tournament with the global football calendar.
