Afenifere Urges FG to Deploy Drones and CCTVs to Combat Banditry in Yorubaland

Afenifere, a prominent Yoruba group, has raised concerns over the increasing insecurity in Yorubaland, urging the Nigerian government to deploy drones and CCTVs to combat banditry. In a communiqué issued after a meeting in Akure, the group highlighted the rise in banditry in states like Kwara, Kogi, Ogun, Ondo, and Oyo, as well as killings in other parts of the country.

Afenifere emphasized the need for the operationalization of state police and the use of modern technology like drones. The group also called for community empowerment and a kinetic approach to tackle banditry and terrorism effectively.
