Africa battling over 1,000 terrorist groups, says Former UN envoy

Former Nigerian permanent representative to the United Nations, Ibrahim Gambari, highlighted Africa's struggle against over 1,000 terrorist groups across the continent. Speaking at the Africa Chiefs of Defence Staff Summit in Abuja, Gambari emphasized the need for African military forces to collaborate in securing their countries and regions to ensure the continent's overall safety.

He also stressed the importance of reviving Africa's defense industry to protect against external influences and promote homegrown technology. Gambari's remarks underscored the critical role of strategic defense in combating contemporary threats to regional peace and security in Africa.
