Security Challenges In Africa Requires Strong Continental Cooperation – Matawalle

During the Africa Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference in Abuja, Minister Matawalle emphasized the need for strong continental cooperation to address security challenges in Africa. Representing Minister of Defence Mohammed Abubakar, Matawalle highlighted the serious and evolving security threats facing the continent.

Nigeria has been actively involved in promoting regional peace and security, with its armed forces engaged in peacekeeping, counterterrorism, and humanitarian missions across Africa. Matawalle stressed the importance of investing in modern technology, such as artificial intelligence, to combat terrorist groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP.

He emphasized the role of digital solutions in safeguarding the territorial integrity of African nations. The minister urged African countries to strengthen defence partnerships and support peace, development, and democratic values through collaborative efforts.
