At Maiden African CDS Summit, Tinubu Pushes for New African Defence Doctrine

President Bola Tinubu emphasized the urgent need for a new African defense doctrine to combat terrorism, cybercrime, and transnational crime at the African Chiefs of Defence Staff Summit in Abuja. Tinubu stressed the importance of collective action and cooperation among African nations to address the growing threats on the continent.

He called for a framework where African defense institutions can speak with one voice and act with one purpose. Tinubu highlighted the interconnectedness of African nations and the need for a shared intelligence and coordinated strategy to ensure security.

He also urged investment in cyber defense and artificial intelligence to effectively neutralize modern-day threats. The summit aimed to establish a permanent African Chiefs of Defence Staff Forum for continuous dialogue and strategic coordination.
