African Air Forces Enhance Cooperation for Security

The Association of African Air Forces (AAAF) intensified its efforts to enhance cooperation among African air forces during a high-level Planning Conference held from August 31 to September 4, 2026, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The conference, hosted by USAFE-AFAFRICA, included members of the AAAF Permanent Secretariat, AAAF Exercise 2027 planners, liaison officers, working-group representatives, and subject-matter experts from the System of Cooperation Among the American Air Forces.

Key discussions focused on developing the AAAF into a more effective and sustainable platform for cooperation. Participants reviewed updates to the AAAF Procedures Manual and Strategic Plan 2027–2034 and created a three-year roadmap leading to AAAFEX 2029.

A significant emphasis was placed on enhancing the Association's strategic communication capabilities, including establishing a coordinated digital presence and improving multilingual communication. The introduction of dedicated Public Affairs and Continuity Manager positions within the Permanent Secretariat aims to preserve institutional knowledge and ensure the continuity of AAAF initiatives.
