Nigeria's Air Force Enhances Security Through Partnerships

Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has significantly improved the operational effectiveness of the NAF since taking office less than a year ago. His strategy involves leveraging international partnerships and defense diplomacy to enhance mission readiness and regional cooperation while increasing pressure on terrorists and other criminal elements.

Aneke has engaged in high-level visits to the United States and Tunisia, among other international interactions, to secure benefits for the NAF. These engagements have led to advanced training, intelligence cooperation, technology transfer, and enhanced interoperability with partner air forces.

Emphasis has been placed on emerging technologies such as unmanned aerial systems and intelligence fusion. Additionally, Aneke's role as Chairman of the Association of African Air Forces has positioned Nigeria as a leader in continental air power cooperation, enhancing Nigeria's strategic profile and commitment to collective security across Africa.
