Defence Minister Receives AFSA Ambassador of Fair Play Award

The Ambassador of Fair Play award was conferred upon Nigeria's Defence Minister, General Christoph Gwabin Musa (Rtd), by the Abuja Federation Sports Association (AFSA). The presentation took place during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence in Abuja, led by Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the AFSA Board of Trustees.

Dogara highlighted the visit's objectives, which included strengthening collaboration between AFSA and the Ministry to elevate sports in the Federal Capital Territory to a world-class level, promote economic independence, empower youth, and curb restiveness. The award, symbolized by a gold medal, reflects Musa's deep passion for sports and youth development, which are essential for national security and stability.

Mr. Agbor Clinton, the Director General of AFSA, noted that the award was carefully selected to honor Musa's renowned discipline and alignment with AFSA's vision of using sports as a tool for societal transformation.

The event also featured the presentation of three inspirational books by Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, AFSA's Director of Female Sports Development.
